Default 18" Laguna Bandsaw Re-tyre Issues

Hi, I've just bought my first urethane tyres and am having trouble . The wheel surface is flat. Can anyone tell me what is used to crown the wheel. I think something glued/taped????? to the wheel to allow a crown for the tyre to run on. Tyre appears to thin to grind sides . Can't get the blade to run other than on the very back of the wheel

I fitted urethane tyres to an old Ezycut bandsaw a few years back. The original wheels were flat and the original rubber tyres profiled. The urethane tyres were a flat profile and were fitted as per instructions with the recommended adhesive. If you don't use adhesive the tyres will "creep" on the wheels and move. I had no issues setting up with the urethane tyres or running.

I can't see why you can't use the saw with flat tires.
Having went from a damaged crowned tire dressed back to flat on my ACM saw, I had much issues along the way.
I kept dressing them over and over to try and eliminate any fluttering and walking of the blade.

Have you tried a new blade supplier?
Bottom line is my saw runs great now since I've swapped for a thicker gauge blade,
Not very much thicker, but I believe this might be the answer.

the other ones were a bit thin and might have got a bit of a warp or something to them?
I was surprised how much of a tracking adjustment the new blades required, aswell as the large amount of table adjustment needed also.

Try another blade brand with a thicker guage, if you are only using one brand, and save yourself months of torture,

    Good luck

As a side note I often hear that you can use hairspray for bonding urethane tires
