Default Any advice on old Woodfast Bandsaw appreciated

    Hey,
So I picked up this saw, runs ok, though need to improve things.

Have new fence from Timbecon, looks good.

Ordered new blades through my sharpener.

All bearings have been replaced recently.

Bottom wheel is slightly loose on shaft and no bush between grub screw and shaft.

Wheel rubbers very hard though reasonably smooth.

Will be cutting hole in bottom for dust extraction, previously welded up..

Will be ripping salvaged hardwood 70-180mm

Any info or advice on it appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Dan

This is my view and not Woodfast specific but general. The looseness of the lower wheel will have to be fixed as it will only get worse with use. As to the tyres if they keep the blade on the wheels and you can track the blade then good for a while yet.
    Regards

    Thanks John,
Wheel is at the engineers now being redone. Have found some new tires, but $70 ea.. will keep looking as the top one has a bit of a flat spot somehow.

    Learning learning..
