Latest news........
Got a call from Gregory's yesterday. The reason it's been so long between news is that the guy I've been dealing with has been off crook, but he's told me that my saw is ready to ship now. All I have to do to finalise everything is to decide what other (if any) optional accessories I want to include with the basic machine.
BobR,
What is it that you've ordered from them? A new bandsaw too? if so what size and any accessories..eg Driftmaster fence etc? Were you able to get anything from them for free during your negotiations? One thing he couldn't tell me was that if the mitre gauge was a standard accessory or not. I told him that theirs would be the only saw that didn't have a mitre gauge as standard.
I'm going to go with their Resaw King saw blade, but I'm still not sure on the fence as I've posted before. I think I'll probably go with the Kreg fence for half the cost of their piece.
Any comments?
Cheers,
Bob

I got the LT 14 SUV with a Resaw King blade. Could not get them to throw anything in with the deal. Made out that it is a new range and no need to do deals. Hard to read the situation over the phone. I took the standard fence and will use this before deciding if something else is required. The manual lists the mitre gauge as an optional accessory. In the US this is about $130 - most probably double that out here. I will use the saw mainly for resawing - will keep the BAS350 for other uses.

Good choice
Bob,
I also thought of getting the 14" SUV after reading the comparison review in AWR, but the reason I went with the larger 18" model was after a call I made to a saw sharpening service who advertised in the same magazine. They suggested that since my main use for getting a new bandsaw was for resawing purposes, that I get the bigger machine rather than the 14" one I told them I was thinking of getting because the larger the machine, the bigger the blade it could take making the resawing process easier.
Made sense to me even though I know the 14" SUV can take a fairly decent size blade, plus by the time I called Gregory's, the new shipment of 14" saws had already been sold.

Guess what?
Got a call last night from a mate who's a chippy and he told me he was offered a big old bandsaw and a spindle moulder if he wanted them. He wants them, but has nowhere to put them so...........guess who gets them now?

News at Last!
Finally some positive news guys. My new Laguna arrives tomorrow. After having been given a tracking number today, I located my saw and found out it was in Canberra!
How the hell it makes sense to take it to Canberra first before delivering it to Goulburn has got me beat.
Anyhow, tomorrow it is. News and pics (hopefully) as it happens.
BobR,
Still keeping tabs on your progress too mate.
Cheers,
Bob

Us mere mortals are not supposed to make sense of freight routes. I tracked an order from Melbourne, it went to Sydney then back to Yass and there it ended it never even said it was delivered even though it was in my sweaty paws in Canberra.

Update..................
Well........................ nothing!
Got a call from the couriers this morning. In short? No bandsaw for me yet!
They had to wait for another truck to bring the saw to my place as ordered and paid extra for.
Problem .......... truck arrives in Canberra without a tail lift! More calls, but I still have no bandsaw.
The upshot of it all is that I will "probably" get my saw tomorrow arvo.
At least while I was waiting, I managed to get my big air compressor working again. It only took a couple of hours of dismantling and rebuilding to find the problem which was a stuck reed valve in the head of the compressor pump. This will make it three machines for the 15 amp plug in my shed. When I get my bandsaw of course.

Re: New Bandsaw on order.
Thats no good. I'm sure it will show up tomorrow
I called them today asking for a price on the 14inch and if they would do a deal for buying 2. Father in law is interested also. They told me I could get one for $1565 or two for $3130 and they will throw in 2 blades lol . Not the king resaw blades just standard. Delivery would be $230 for both of them but more if I need a hydraulic lift off the truck.
Nice one on the price for two hey lol
