General bandsaw, adjustable 5" to 12" depth of cut
Hi
Found this whilst browsing ~ http://www.general.ca/pagemach/machines/90200a.html the depth of cut can be varied from 5" to 12".
Will it become the standard or be a gimmick?Tony Ward

Why .
Do you have to change the blade for a different size every time you adjust the cutting depth? I'm assuming from the picture that the top wheel moves up and down.
I adjust my depth of cut by cutting a bigger or smaller piece of timber.

Hint: it has a Laser Line Marker.
The web page says it has 15" wheels and accommodates blades of 93 1⁄2” TO 106” (2375 TO 2692 mm) length. IMHO 'tis much easier to simply start with a big capacity BS and lower the upper blade guides for smaller cuts than to replace/retension the blade. Hmmm... I wonder if you tension the blade on it by simply increasing the depth of cut?
I also have my doubts about the rigidity of the "frame" during deep cuts. Mine's solid cast and it still flexes enough to cause me minor problems.
