Which Bandsaw Blade?
Hi WWF,
I recently picked up a Hafo 17" bandsaw (BP430).
i am now trying to work out what blades I need for a variety of different tasks I will be using it for.
Firstly for cutting patterns in 19mm timber I am thinking a 6mm blade with 6tpi should do the trick. Thoughts?
Then for ripping and cutting tenons I am thinking of a bit of a compromise and that is a 1" 4tpi blade. I know 3tpi or less is preferred for ripping however I am trying to limit cost here.
Any help and guidance greatly appreciated.

You maybe surprised....................
You maybe surprised, but I only have two blades in my workshop. They are both TC tipped blades one is 25mm, the other 10mm. They have been my main stay for years. I know that they are expensive compared to the standard type of blade used by most people but hey, they are fantastic and I only need them sharpened once or twice a year. Ok I am a pro and my workshop is a very busy one, so the cost for me is off set by their quality and how they give a fantastic cut, but, I would still recommend them to you, as I doubt very much if you would ever need to sharpen them.
Remember a sharp blade is a safe blade!!

Thanks Kph
Thanks Kph
Before your post I had actually decide on 2 blades. A 27mm 3TPI and a 6mm 8TPI.
I suspect I will never need anything more
