    Default Bandsaw Blade drift

I have a SBW-4300 bandsaw and have a question about blade drift.
I fitted a 1" 3TPI blade for resawing and set up the blade guides. Set up the fence to correct for drift which was only a degree or 2.
I cut several 3mm veneers from some red cedar and was impressed with the consistant thickness. Over the next couple of weeks I used the 1" blade to cut whatever I needed as there was no curves involved.
The next time I went to resaw some hardwood, the stock kept drifting away from the fence. So much so that I resawed the stock freehand and had to put the wood on about a 15 degree angle to get it to cut straight.
I was of the understanding that once blade drift was compensated for, it was consistant for the life of the blade. The same happened with a 1/2" blade I have. Any ideas why this could happen would be appreciated.

    Regards
    Woodcutta

1st, I don't own one but I have been researching.

As I understand it the blade drift is dependant on the saw set (did you damage one side if the blade?) and on blade tension (has the blade stretched beyond the ability of the saw to tension it correctly?).

    the blade is probably blunt.

    I had a similar experience.

make sure the guards on the bottom guide assembly arent catching on the blade.
you did remember to pull the tension on again?

I've got some wide blades for mine that have nasty big teeth but havnt had a chance to try them yet.

I'm sort of half surprised how quick the blades go off if you are rippin big hard stock. but i'm used to carbide on the tasble saw.

my latest latest blade is bi metal i hope to see better life.

    cheers
