Henry Bros for 1/2” bimetal, and my last 1” Woodmaster CT (for resawing) from Felder. Previously from Henry Bros.

G'Day Anne, Try emailing Henry Bros; if they may ship to New Zealand but if not they should be able to tell you of a local Kiwi source. Cheers crowie

Hi Anne,
I live in Auckland and I own a Hammer N4400 bandsaw. I found it easiest and cheapest to buy my blades from a sawdoctor in East Tamaki, Auckland. I tell them the length, width and number of teeth per inch, and what teeth material (steel / bi-metal / carbide) and they make it up for me.
For example, a 3975mm length blade, 5/8inch width, 4 teeth per inch steel standard blade costs me $45 (incl GST) but I pick them up in person so there are no courier costs.
Contact details: G P SawDoctors, 21A Andromeda Cre East Tamaki Auckland 2013 Phone: 09 274 1700
I see you are in Nelson so I suggest you try finding the equivalent type of sawdoctor in Christchurch as the courier costs should be lower.
Let me know how successful you are.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the info.
I have just ordered the Hammer 4400 and expect delivery in August. I hope you like you Hammer. Any recommendations for a resawing blade.
Cheers

Hi Anne,
sorry, I don't really do any resawing so I'm not a good source as to resawing blades available in NZ.
Hopefully someone else can answer the question?
- one thing posters of answers need to be aware of is not to quote specific resaw bandsaw blades as in NZ we often can't find any firm importing and stocking these named blades, e.g. the "woodslicer".

I use a 1.25 tpi bi-metal blade on an 18" Carbatec bandsaw for resawing. Most of the carbide tipped resaw blades seem to be 1.3 to 2 tpi. For resawing I wouldn't bother with a conventional carbon steel blade.
A few companies in Christchurch that may offer what you're looking for:
- Bandsaw Blades
- Enduring Precision, Scott Machinery - Engineering Machinery Specialist - Accessories - Sawing Accessories - Blading - Rontgen Bandsaw Blades - German Quality, Since 1899
Don't know where in NZ these guys are but they supply both the Lenox Woodmaster B (bi-metal) and CT (carbide tipped) blades and you can request a price quote from the site -
Build a Product - Narrow Bandsaws - Thode
Hope this helps.

Does that 2 - 3 tooth combination improve the cut speed or quality or both?
