Which bandsaw would you buy?
I need a bandsaw with at lease a 30cm depth of cut; the throat itself is not so critical. Primary use will be for re sawing so an accurate cut is critical. The Jet, Carbatech, Hafco and Ledacraft 18 to 20 inch models are all similarly priced though I have seen varying comments for each manufacturer on quality control, complicated set up and/or under powered motors.
I'd very much appreciate advice or recommendations; or even suggestions on alternative models.
Cheers

I know where there is one of those JUMBO australian made ones.
3 phase and must weigh 2 tons.
Its at a school and they want to get rid of it.
base is a yard square.
I'd check with some other schools and see if they are getting rid of equipment.
Some of it gets offered to mens sheds and not even they want ones that big and heavy.

I had an old bandsaw but it proved a bugger to set up; after breaking 3 bands I made the decision to move it onand buy a new(ish) model - hoping that it would prove easier to use (also I only have single phase in my new place).

Very nice !! Unfortunately, you hit the nail on the head - the price is a bit hard to justify for a hobby shed

Think I would go for a Felder made in Austria rather than a Powermatic out of Taiwan.
