    Default bandsaw with cork wheels

    HI members,
    can you advise me regarsdin BS with cork like lined wheels,the previous owner neglected machine and there are furrows in the cork which are problematic,do I have to remove all the cork, or can I put rubber tyres over the top of the existing material,any advice much appreciated.

    It sounds like the previous owner just glued cork onto the wheels when the 'rubber' tyres failed, most bandsaws now use polyurethane 'rubber' tyres that are cast in one piece and are a stretch fit. From memory several on-line suppliers have tyres for 14" bandsaws as the wheels are pretty generic - Lee Valley, Rockler, Carbatec (?) Hare & Forbes are al worth a try.
