14" Hafco - slow to turn on a cold start
Hi Folks,
I picked up a used Hafco 14" machine that presents as new and looks to have had very little use. It came with stock blades which I have replaced with a 1" Lennox and is now cutting superbly.
Question - sometimes when the machine hasn't been used previously on that day, or has sat idle for a while, when I switch it on I hear the motor start but the blade will not begin to turn for about 3-5 seconds, after which it spins up normally. It starts up quickly for any additional cuts.
I find this a little curious and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I have read about issues with the start up capacitor, but the machine really isn't very old. The belts don't appear to be slipping. Could it be blade tension?
Any suggestions appreciated.

It sounds ds like the start cap is on on its way out. a bit of damp/moisture prevents it start quickly the first time but then its warmed up enough to start the other times. Caps, even newish ones, can go at any time
