bandsaw guides
hi to everone, this is my first try at this
I have started a project in bandsaw boxes, but I have found out that I need to use a 3.2 (1/8'') blade to cut out the internal drawers, to use this, I have been informed that I need to have a top guide with a groove in it to stablise the blade.
my bandsaw is a carbatec 14 inch BAS 350B. Carbatec have told me that they dont have juch a item, jet do but it is the wrong size. can anyone please help me[email protected]

Hi John and welcome, you could try McJing they may have something. I did get some guides from them years ago.

Just make up blade guides from pieces of oak or jarrah, in fact any hardwood will do, and fit them in the guide holders. The blade should be totally enclosed within the wooden blade guides now. Works a treat for me. If I use a different size blade then I replace the bearing type blade guides.

I looked at the bandsaw online at Carbatec and it just has roller guides - there does not seem to be anyway to put in rectangular side guide blocks (is this true?)
If you can put in rectangular side guide blocks, then the standard approach is to use Cool Blocks for 1/8 and 1/16 size blades. These can go against the blade without risk of blunting the teeth.
