    Default Bandsaw guides

    I am in the process of fixing an old handsaw, it has timber and steel blade guides, but I want to mount roller bearings. In and ideal world I want to do both resawing and finer work and as such anticipate using both 1 inch and 1/4 inch blades. Does anybody know anywhere that sells 'double bearing guides'? Can I get away with 1inch blade and single bearing guides?

    Hi My bandsaw has single bearing guides and handles 1/8th to 1" blades with ease.

    You could have a look at the Carbatec industrial blade guides, they're a total pain in the backside to install and adjust initially, but they do work quite well.

    Yes steel bearings, probably the carba-tec ones mentioned above. Hard wood blocks or compound are alright for short runs but steel bearing guides will last for years at a time.
