Bandsaw Guides
I have a Laguna 14/12 bandsaw and have always had trouble with the ceramic guides coming loose and sliding forward taking the edge of my blades.
I have replaced the guides twice as directions with new "Laguna" replacements.
I have 2 other bandsaws with bearing guides with no problems.
Been checking on line for after market bearings and the pricing is from $150 to $400.
Anyone able to give me some direction?
My use is minimal but then I don't want to buy junk. This machine normally runs a 12mm blade
I have a bigger bandsaw running a 19mm break down blade and a smaller saw that runs mostly 6mm.
Cheers

Hi John
My bandsaw came with both bearing and ceramic guides; I had trouble with both.
I made may own using Olson Cool Block Slabs (6" x 13/4" x 1/2") and you can press them up against the blade when adjusting.
I'm currently using them with a 19mm bimetal blade they support the whole blade.
I use a bearing at the back of the blade.
Buying from the US is exxy, but I got a couple of packs when I was there a few years back.
Been using for about 3 years now, occasionally check for wear - not much detected, very pleased with them.
Cheers
Keith
