more on bandsaw guides
giday all .looking at the last thread reminded me of a problem ive had for awile . got 18 inch jet with the round flat guides which work ok with 1 inch rip blade but when im tring to do really fine work with 1/8 blade its no good as the guides take the edges off the blade .have tried gluing bits of ironbark on to bolts and then screwing them into the small blade and this works ok until the blade cuts ito the the wood . so whats best way to guide really small blades ?

The best guides I have ever used were made from carbide simple flat ground plates on fabricated brackets brought up to the blade with a cigarett paper to give clearance. I am so impressed with this set up that when aquire another bansaw I fit it with this system
