    Question Bandsaw Jig problem

I have made a circle cutting jig similiar to the one described in Violincrafters post.
It is used on the two 20 inch Hafco models that we have at school. On one it cuts perfect circles in both Acrylic and plywood. On the other it runs out and drags the blade away from the jig.
Both machines use the blades made up from the same roll. The blade tension is as near as I can adjust it.
Can readers offer an opinion as to other varibles that could cause this phenomenum.

    Thanks

    Hi,
Without seeing the jig its difficult to tell.
In general the blade has to be exactly positioned to the locating pin. If its to forward the blade will stretch outwards and force itself outwards. If its to far rearward the blade will bite inwards more.

Because you use two bandsaws do you use the same jig? If not then the blade position is incorrect to the centre of the jig on one of them. It seems like a blade setting issue more so than tensioning of the blade! The other offering are the rubbing blocks in good condition to firm the blade from "twist". One other posibility is that one bandsaw has its blade rolling at a different position on the wheel and this may indicate the different characteristic of the two identical saw if they share the same jig. This is only theory but may resolve this issue.

Im basically refering to my jig though
