    Default Bandsaw maintenance recommendations

Hello, My son has just bought an elektra beckum bandsaw BAS500 This bandsaw has been sitting idle in a shed in the tropic since new for about 6 years. You can see details here

Can anyone please advise what parts may need replacing or maintaining before we start to use it? eg are there are rubber bits and pieces that are likely to have perished ?

Can anyone please show me a link to the operating instructions and spare parts manuals? I have had a few goes on the German and Australian websites, to no avail
    regards,

    Dengy

Likely the blade has rusted to sh*t.

Possibly other parts but suck it and see.

Re manuals, if you'd just googled on BAS500 you would've got the manual ... first result was:

thanks Ern. I am really embarrassed about the search, but suspect I had too many terms in my searches, and I was mainly searching in the Metabo sites in Germany and Australia

    No worries Jill.

Google is a bit hit and miss.

I start with the most specific search term and if no result, add more in.

Yes Jill as Ern says, definitely check the blade. I am not familiar with this beast, however, depending where it has been stored, also check the tyres and top & bottom guide bearings (if they have them).
