Bandsaw motor
I'm wondering if anyone can help me find a replacement motor for my Grizzly 14", 2 speed, cast frame bandsaw, which I brought back with me from the USA when we moved home to Australia. I'm looking for a 2 hp motor with a end mount. I was using the original US one that came with it (rewired to 220v) but the frequency swap is the killer, and it just drew too much current and burnt out. so far I've looked at CMT motors etc but the mount and shaft length are nowhere near similar. Any suggestions?
Thanks Andrew

Oh well.... Looks like I'll have to do it the rough way I stripped the stator out of the motor, removed the fan and end cover. Now I have the original shaft passing though the empty housing and bearings. The other end protrudes enough to clear the stand and is about 16mm in size. I will mount a 2 hp generic motor under the stand and run a belt up to a pulley on the dummy motor shaft. This will allow me to use a 2850rpm motor, as I will be able to select what speed I want by the size of pulleys I use.
