Just a thought, why don't you contact head office of Glenfords? Kick up enough dust and they'll do something about it. The old story goes, if they want to sell you something and they don't have it in stock, it won't be long before it is!! I mean if its going to save you the sort of money you are talking! I myself just bought a bandsaw. I got it from Melbourne. It was frieghted up here to Mackay in under three days! Mind you, my machine is worth probably 5 times as much as your looking at. But I just don't agree that because its not in stock that they can't get it up. That is just very slack, maybe not by the francisee but more the francise supplier!

Here are some suppliers that might suit you. Only two have an active website.
I have used Hare & Forbes in Sydney when I was working there, and now I am in Melbourne, I use Herless Machinery & Brobo-Waldown

I know that Hare & Forbes sell the "Hafco" brand of bandsaws: Hafco seems to be their "in-house" brand, probably of Taiwanese/Chinese origin. We have a bandsaw here at school with a different name and I looked in the "Jet" tools catalogue and saw the identical saw with the "Jet" logo.

You might like to contact Hare & Forbes in Brisbane for their free catalogue. I'm sure if you describe the size bandsaw you want they'll probably have one in stock.

Herless' website offers a free cataloge. Most probably they have some small bandsaws too.

I have some Durden Bandsaws here at school
I also have several drill presses from Brobo-Waldown. I think they sell bandsaws too.
