Bandsaw table is not even
I have Delta model 28-276 bandsaw that I haven't used in about a year. I decided to usse it today and rand a small peice of wood thru it. The wood tried to catch on the slot that you thread the blade thru when you replace the blade. This has never happened before. There is a pin that has always been in place at the end of the slot. I removed it with a pair of pliers, but it didn't make any difference. I remember reading somewhere about the purpose of that pin but I can't find it now. It certainly isn't in the owners manual.
Is there some adjustment I can make or do I have to manually twist the table to get it back flat?
Thanks,
Paul

The function of that "pin" is to align the two sides of the table at the slot. Designs may vary, but it's more than just a pin - usually a threaded bolt or wing bolt. On some, the bolt engages a thin nut in a shallow mortise; or a bolt (in a mortise) from above engages a wing nut below. On others, the hole is threaded before cutting the slot, so that the threads on both sides force the two sides flush with one another.
Chances are, your wing nut below is AWOL.

My pin is just a tapered pin too on my JET BS. Just tap it in and try sliding a piece of timber across the table at different stages as you tap it in to see if it still catches. if it doesn't catch then it is aligned properly.
Are you sure its catching on the slot and not the insert around the blade? make sure the insert is fitting flush and the table is not a tiny bit proud of the table on the cutting side of the blade or not slightly below the table on the backside of the blade. This will cause the workpiece to snag.
Also make sure the BS is sitting level. sometimes that can "twist" the table fractionally.
Good luck.Reality is no background music.
Cheers John
