Bandsaw tires
Hi. I am restoring an old bandsaw and the tires are worn, I wish to replace them. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find new tires.
The bandsaw wheels are approx 800mm dia. There is a second ring on the wheel that appears to be steel (I have not removed it yet) to which the tire is glued to. This ring is approx 3mm thick and looks to just press onto the bandsaw wheel with no fixing. The tire is 5mm thick and width is approx 47mm.
I am located in Melbourne (outer east).

Google Carter bandsaw products. they have the tyres you need. HOWEVER!!
Ensure that they do not ship them UPS international expedited. (I hate UPS)It took a week and cost $100 after I ordered. If they agree to mail them you could get away with $20 or so for postage. The tyres themselves are reasonably priced and good quality. (My saw has 24" wheels)
I had no luck finding a local supplier.

Thanks for the reply.
I've just checked out their site and it looks like they have exactly what i need.
I was put onto a company called Welco in Melbourne today but when I called there was no answer. I think they have just relocated.
If I have no sucess with Welco, I will get them from the US.
Thanks once again.

This shop on eBay has a good range of Band Saw accessories and postage seems reasonable:

Thanks Peter,
I have found a place in Tullamarine called Welco.
I called the other day and they were a great help. They will strip the old tires off and glue the new ones on, post cure and shape them.
Not cheap but should last a long time if I take care of them.
I am dropping the wheels off on this Friday.
