Seriously, how does stuff like this happen? Surely a few machines are plugged in and checked at the factory in China?
obviously not though, I wonder how many others have the same issue?

not sure about a contactor, the wires disappears into the main frame of the bandsaw, ill have a look and follow the wiring between the two

Did you ever get this resolved? Looks like just the generic "no-volt switch" setup.

    Interesting the things one notices....

A fair while back there was an auxiliary foot switch being sold in Australia that had no earth continuity through the switch. It happens!!! and it shouldn't!!

    Hi guys
i have started having the same problem after putting new tyres on my bp355 bandsaw
has anybody found a solution to this PIA problem ?
i don't want to keep taping the switch on and then using the plug as a switch. Definitely not the way to go,
wiring a plug is about my limit when it comes to anything electrical
Is a new switch the answer? or is it a process of elimination start with the switch and then i have no idea what to do thanks in advance CARLO

    Try
    - turning of power, remove plug
    - open up switch and blow it out.

If this doesn't work it sounds like the switch solenoid is stuffed and switch needs to be replaced.

With mine, it's simply a matter of putting the yellow cover back down with a feather-light touch after pressing the on button, rather than letting the cover fall back. If I let the cover fall back, it seems that is sufficient to trigger the off switch. If I carefully place it back, it stays on. Ridiculous, but it has become habit now so I don't even think about it.
