    Talking Basic bandsaw video

Recently, I make a vídeo for a brazilian woodworking forum. Is about bandsaw, a very basic video about basic adjustments, some safety rules, and so. A basic video for those don´t have experience with bandsaw.

Although I am speaking in portuguese, I make a translation to english. Is only necessary activate the Closed Caption (CC). I'm not sure I did a good job of translation and synchronization, it is my first time with this.

I am sure that in english language has some better videos both in the information as in the quality of the video, but I am sharing anyway. Perhaps it will be useful for someone, I hope it.

Unfortunately, my internet is slow; video can't load fast. I'm curious, what's your band saw and how old is it?

The brand of this bandsaw is Acerbi. The Acerbi industry does not exist anymore. I am not sure about the age, but if a had to make a supposition, I would say around 35 years of old. Older than me.

It has 40 cm (16") wheels, the only part that has thin steel sheet are the covers, the base is from steel profiles too. But the main frame is all cast iron. It does not have lower guides, only two simple wood blocks, I need to correct this and make a better guide from the lower part.

It is a simple machine, but solid and reliable. The type of used machine that we can find here in Brazil, better than new machines that are sale here.

It sounds very interesting. I always wanted to have vintage band saws. I just thought that old saws are strong and solid.
I am no expert of band saws. A cast iron structure vibrates less and saws can run more quietly. While steel framed saws
weigh less but increase vibration. What do you do most with your bandsaw?

I do a little of everything, joinery like tenons, rip cuts, curved cuts, but I think that what I do more is resawing. My woodshop stay in small farm ( www.woodworkforums.com/f175/hello-brazil-154565/ ), a ranch where has a lot of reclaimed wood and sometimes small logs to resaw.
