    Default blade sharpening

    A question

Does anyone know the cost of getting bandsaw blades sharpened in the Sydney area. Is it worth while. I now have a collection of used blades in the garage roof and can not let go the pack rat instinct when her indoors says throw them out.

    Regards
    John

a new band saw blade only cost 14$
so by the time you get them to a sharpener and they sharpen them it would cost way more call henry bros saw they are in vinyard on the way out to windsor they will be able to help you and tell you cost....

You can resharpen them yourself using a Dremel with a chainsaw sharpening grinder. Just touch up inside the gullet & point - you don't need to take a lot off.

This only works with 3TPI or coarser blades.

$14... I wish try $100+ for a resaw blade, yep worth the effort!
Small 6mm blade is not worth sharpening tho... unless your bored and have nothing to do(unlikely)

    Thanks for the replies.
The blades I have all cost around the $15 mark and I was just thinking it wasteful to toss them. I can sharpen hand saws but I am not looking forwards to a blade with about 300 teeth with a file. I may look at a dremmell as it would be useful for other stuff as well. Can never have too many tools!
