If we're talking about the Hammer N4400
    Cutting height 275mm
    Cutting width 420mm
Cutting width with rip fence 370mm
    Saw blade length 3925mm
    Saw blade width 6-20mm

and with a bi-metal blade from Henry Bros, it does it with ease.

Thanks for the replys. Is it accurate enough to be able to cut veneers in our hard australian timbers at its maximum height with only a 20mm blade? I think the carbatec SBW4300 will take a 25mm blade. Thanks

The Hammer N4400 seems to cope OK, Mick. Single phase feeding's a bit slower than a three phase, but quite acceptable.

Maximum depth of cut from memory is 11" or 11 1/2" or so, i.e. not quite 12"

Blade size 3980mm, but the 3925 will also fit, I'd imagine.

    Cheers,

    eddie

edit:" re-read Alex's specs -> except for blade length, they're spot on. Maximum recommended blade width is 19mm.

Which is the better bandsaw and which is the better buy between the carbatec SBW4300 and the Hammer N4400? Thanks
