Tony,
Thanks for those links. I was particularly glad to see the one for "Coiling Bandsaw Blades". I think that there are probably a lot of bandsaw users who cannot coil bs blades. In fact, only last weekend I was with a chap who has used a bandsaw for a number of years and he did not know how to coil a bs blade. I showed him the foot on blade method detailed by Mark Duginske in his "Band Saw Handbook", but I will be sure to refer him to that link.

Why do you never cut "too long".

Perhaps you should provide a step by step instruction sheet thereby sharing your knowledge on how to "coil a blade"?Tony Ward

Folding bs blades

I can however describe a simpler two handed method demonstrated to me by a friend. As with the Duginske single handed method, hold one end of the blade with your foot on the floor. Hold the blade in both hands, palms out, at about 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock, and twist both hands inwards as you lean forward. The blade should fold into three loops.
I find that, at least with thinner blades, it does not matter whether the teeth are facing towards you or away from you. It may be different with thicker blades and garden gloves could help in that situation.
I am sure that you would have been familiar with this method of
folding, however it may be of interest to others.John H
