    Smile BS900 Bandsaw

    Hi Everyone

This is my first post on your fantastic network - thanks for letting me join!!

I came across your site during some internet searches I was doing to try and find some parts and info for an old bandsaw. It's an old machine my father-in-law picked up from a friend and it is badged only as a "BS900" but I have found photos on international websites of the very same machine badged as a "Ryobi BS900". Unfortunately I have not managed to find any parts or repair information on any Australian sites.

The problem with the saw is that the small guides that the blade runs in are broken. I'm not sure what the technical term is for them as I am fairly new to bandsaws but I'm sure that anybody reading this would know what I am talking about. Anyway, does anybody know if they are available and, if so, from where. Also, does anybody have any general information or comments on this particular model.... namely, are we wasting our time to try and repair it? I have heard that small bandsaws have many limitations.... is this true?

Any information or comments from any readers would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Ven

Can only suggest you remove the guides and it's supprt mechanism and take it to a carba-tec or timbecon to see if they can help

    Ven,

    Try and contact these people:http://www.ryobi.com.au/

They will tell you if the parts are available or not. otherwise I would certainly do what Barnsey said and take the roller guides and support to either Timercon or Carbatec.
