Where to buy 636z bearings (upper guides) for bandsaw
Hi. I need to buy some 636z bearings, which function as the upper guides for a Hare and Forbes BP355 bandsaw.
Can anyone tell me where to buy them - or perhaps if there is an improvement or substitute that might be better.
Please don't say Hare and Forbes.
cheers

Look in the yellow pages under bearing suppliers and choose the nearest one to you.

Instead of the zz get the 2RS (2 rubber seals), keeps the dust out much longer and don't cost much more.
Any bearing place.

Sorry, I should have been clearer - no bearing suppliers near me and I currently cant drive.
I was hoping for an alternate solution or way to purchase them - saving myself a few of hours of travel.
Also wondering if 636z is really the best soultion. I have heard of ceramic bearings and understand they are better in some way. If I'm going to have to purchase on-line and wait for them to arrive from China or Hong Kong should I be looking at ceramic bearings or maybe something else. I was hoping to hear from Bp355 Owners who have dealt with this.

First place I would be trying is my local bearing supplier, as transport is an issue online, alternatively maybe the local supplier would put them in a padded bag and post them to you, or maybe someone could pick them up and then post them to you, rubber seals will be fine

I wouldn't even contemplate the China/Hong Kong option.
Plenty or bearing suppliers in the phone book, just ring up, order and pay over the phone and they will freight or post it out. You will get a better quality bearing that will last longer. Definitely go the 2RS option. You can pop out the rubber seals and relube the bearing as needed if you wish as part of your maintenance regime.
