When buying a bandsaw tyre...
Pro tip. Buy two...
My Jet 18" band saw tyre busted and jammed my saw the weekend before last. It only had a 6mm blade on it at the time and it was not under high tension.
I ended up buying a pair of urethane tyres (not Carter) through Amazon. The local Carter supplier had a price I wasn't willing to pay for a single tyre. For $40 more, I had two tyres from the US delivered in four days.
Robot Check
Got the first one on, setup the saw to resaw with a 30mm blade and then bam, the second tyre blew. If one of your tyres has died, the odds are the other one is likely to be not much better. Just replace them both and save time.
I can't say they are fun to put on but it was easier than I expected. I read about people putting these in super hot water to soften them before installing and all sorts of other other crazy notions. I just used three spring clamps and three large standard screwdrivers and I left the wheels on the machine. The second one took me five to ten minutes.
