Default Information source for homebuilt machines

    Weisy,
there is an old (1986) Fine Woodworking publication of articles on homebuilt machinery called "Making and Modifying Machines" - most of this machinery was homebuilt in wood with only the core parts such as wheels, bearings and axles being of metal - it will supply ideas for building a bandsaw or a bandsaw equivalent.
If you search on Amazon.com you can find this publication for sale secondhand - the front cover shows an amazing alternative to a bandsaw being used to saw through a 10" (250mm) block of wood.
