Default carbatec 14" saw, hints needed.

I bought one of these last week, assembled it & have resawn a few pieces of softwood by way of experiment. All is adjusted according to the manual & it is working OK, but I am wondering if anyone has a few hints on getting the best from it.
I do have a 3 tpi blade in it, bought as an extra.
I know there are better brands out there but it was available on the day, reasonable value & I was in the ute so it seemed like a good idea.
Thanks for any tips that may be offered, Bill

Here is a document which whilst a little old, is worthwhile,

The 3TPI blade is a great start for resawing.
I have probably the same bandsaw.

I have upgraded a few components that have made a good difference to its performance and function:

1 - Ceramic blade guides and thrust bearings.
2 - Kreg Precision Bandsaw Fence (very nice indeed).
3 - Wheel brush to keep bottom wheel clean (which also seems to keep top wheel clean)
4 - Bandsaw Blade Lubricant stick (makes blades last twice as long).
5 - PowerTwist link belts (havent installed as yet but I'm sure they will help with the vibration).

It all comes at a cost but I'm very happy with the performance now.

Also, ensure both top and bottom wheels are co-planar using a straight edge when the wheels are under tension by your most used blade.
How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?

Agree with that - way better than the standard fence on my EB B/S!
