Thanks for all the input. With a blade having 1.25 TPI, I will only use it for ripping larger pieces in future. Having had a table saw incident recently my nerves are at the forefront at the moment. Was cutting off a piece of 7mm ply and unbeknown to me the adjusting screws in the fence had shifted causing pinching of the blade at the back. Got hit with the piece of ply a bit to the left of my groin and was black and blue for over a week. Still ingrained in my memory.

Lucky that was all the damage. Power tools are not forgiving when mistakes are made.
