    Question Cengiz Topel MJ346 bandsaw??

    Hi guys

    As a new member to this forum can you please help - I'm in the process of purchasing a bandsaw - Glenfords tools is offering a MJ346 (3Kw, 330mm Ht x 560mm Throat) Glenfords claim this is a Rexon product. My www. research comes up with cetiner-co.com/pro/bandsaw. This appears to be a company called Cengiz Topel of Turkish origin. Quoted price is $2,000.

    Does anyone know of this brand/company and reputation of this saw.

    never heard of cengis whatever but Rexon has been around for a while. Either Chinese or Taiwanese (not sure). Originally made stationary cast iron stuff but has since branched into portable and hand held stuff. Some of the British WW magazines carry ads for Rexon tools. I bought a Rexon 10" dropsaw years ago, wasn't bad but weighed about 30kg. It was noisy and came with a ***** blade (no TCT) but gave good service until I swapped it for a RAS (Bad Move :mad: ).

    Hello,
    Rexon is a confusing brand name and the reason...... well.
    * Rexon Corporation, of Taiwan, is not connected to the business name of Rexon Machine Tools Australia, that Glenfords supply.
    * Rexon, that Glenfords supply is imported by Glenfords and badge engineered for thier stores.
    * Rexon of Taiwan and Rexon Machine Tools Australia are worlds apart when it comes to quality, the former being of much higher quality. Also something most do not realise is Rexon Taiwan manufacture many machines ( badge engineered ) and components for some of the more well known power tool brands from Europe to Asia.
