What do I Check?
I have been offered a workshop built Band saw (built at the electrical co workshop) for $250 with 5 new blades, 18 inch cut.
What do I look for to check if it is worth spending the money on it or not.
I will take some timber to try it out but I imagine there are 100s of pitfalls that I don't know about.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

I'd be interested in the electrics, size of motor, does it run smoothly, how does it perform when at work? Could you buy the equivalent bs for $250.00? Sounds like a reasonable deal?Tony Ward

Having spent around $600 on a 14inch bandsaw and then outlaying more dollars on a selection of blades I'd say it looks like a good deal sight unseen. Have a look at the rubber on the wheels to see if it will be usable for a while to get used to it. Chack if it runs true and that the wheels can be aligned properly.
Hope you pick up a bargain.
