    Default Danckeart bandsaw

    Hi
    i am looking for advice on an old 32 ins bandsaw that I have an option to purchase.
    the only doubt I have is with the tensioning system, which is via a counterweight arm as opposed to the modern spring.

    Have any of you guys had experience with this setup, does it work as good as the modern ones. Any wrinkles anybody would like to pass on would be appreciated

    I had an opportunity to buy a Danckeart tenoner, didn't go ahead because it was simply too old.

    Well it is old, and I haven't been able to find a manual or any info. I have something of a fatal attraction to the old machines but I want to be able to use them.

    I have a Dankeart 20" jointer, (ex GMH pattern room as it turns out), I wouldn't sell or swap it for the world. Weighs 1 Tonne, runs like a charm. Smooth and powerful.
    The only reservation I would have with the Dankeart bandsaw, would be it's OH&S compliance if you are using one in that arena.
