Doing a search it appears that anyone who has asked for a manual in the past has not been successful. The only one I can find was on this forum back in 2009 and that person hasn't been back on since then even if they did have the manual.

This gets discussed 2-3 times year.

A standard wood cutting speed of ~3000 FPM needs to be reduced to about 100 FPM to cut steel.
This 30:1 speed reduction is well beyond a VFD and too big an ask for a single pair of pulleys.
I've used the Metalfast upright BS at the mens shed a few times and it uses a 3 step pulley arrangement.
A couple of WWF members have done this successfully - its quite an exercise.

Eventually I bought my own ($100) a horizontal bandsaw for cutting metal and after using that I never bothered again to use the mens shed upright BS. The horizontal saw wins hands down from a variety of perspectives, the main one being you can set it cutting and go do something else and when the cut finished the BS turns itself off.

Agree with BobL, however my h&f bs7l. came with a table attachment which screws on when the saw is in the upright position, it works well. In my experience, it’s easier to have two seperate machines, one for wood and one for metal.
