Durden B1200 Saw Guide Pins
I’ve just picked up an old Durden B1200 bandsaw. It’s running, but in need of proper adjustment, new tires, blade etc. The blade guides called “Saw Guide Pin” part number BS12/42 in the manual have been replaced by brass tube stuffed with felt. I guess they work, but I’m thinking I’ll replace them with solid pins.
Does anyone know what material the original pins are made from?
I have a metal lathe so I’ll turn down some pins to size out of brass unless there is another material better suited.

If I was to do it I would make the from steel with brazed and ground Tungsten faces, originals were most likely solid brass.

I am not familiar with the Durden ones, but from your photo it appears to be similar to the older made in Aus Woodfast guides setup. The rods should be 3/8" dia with a flat on the front and must be hardened steel. I am not here on the forum to sell stuff and push my work but I do happen to have these in stock. These are not listed on my website, you'd have to phone me.
