ryobi (and i'm sure others) make 8" saws. What size did you have in mind?
You need thin kerf blades to keep the bending stress down - try giving some of the pro's a call - someone like C&S in your part of the world.
Have you seen this thread?

I think such blades are also referred to as hobby blades. The only ones I have seen are 1/4" wide and about 60% of the thickness of a 3/8 blade. Even the generic Ryobi ones I flirted with at one point performed very well. The only issue I had was they broke very often, but the saw in question was an old Ryobi three wheel gadget with 100mm wheels, and I suspect this was the reason for the breakages. A saw doctor or someone like Henry Bros should be able to make up the blades you require.
