Free Bandsaw Instruction book
I came across a bandsaw instruction book in my local library that was published back in 1955 by the Rockwell company of the USA. It turns out it was actually put out by Delta Machinery who were a subsidiary of Rockwell and who are (were?) the premier manufacturer of bandsaws in the USA. The book is called "Getting the Most out of your Bandsaw & Jigsaw" and was first printed in 1937.
However, the bandsaw features, capabilities and techniques in it have not dated at all and are still relevant today; where it is dated is in the blade information and the safety aspects. It also had information about some bandsaw behaviour I have not found elsewhere. Overall, the book is clearly written and I would recommend it as a good introductory manual .
I have located a free online source for this book. Go to the following page:
http://www.oldwwmachines.com/MfgInde...ns.asp?ID=1141
and you will find it listed under Instruction Guides as a 6.5MB PDF download.
Warning: as with all the older machinery manuals, there is little about safety and dust collection and some techniques shown may be hazardous.New Zealand

I have a copy of the original 1937 book. The price was 25 cents. All the pics show the worker wearing a white shirt with starched collar ( no tie ) and an apron. Dress was important then. I have 4 other books from delta published in the thirties
