Default HAFCO BS16A manual and photo's

    Hi,
Can anyone help me with copy of the manual and some photo's? I'm rebuilding one and would like to see what it all was originally.
Anyone with modifications out there that would share photo's it would be appreciated.

    Cheers, Nick

I suspect you mean a Hafco BP16A W430 - BP-16A Wood Band Saw | Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse which is the link to all the printed material

This is the direct link to the manual https://images.machineryhouse.com.au...n%20Manual.pdf

Get back to me if you want the link to the manufacturer. Its an MJ344, which HAFCO sold as a BP16A. They still carry parts.

I have the Hafco BP-16a and can take any photos you may need. I did upgrade the guides when there was an upgrade available which made it like the one liked to by T91.

That's amazing. I suspect mine predates 2006 and has a different upper guide.
It looks like they do sell the same spares. I may be lucky and find they have spares actually in Brisbane for me to check if they have the same dimensions.

    Thanks for the help

Default HAFCO BS16A manual and photo's

A quick search of the forms unearths that I purchased mine in 2003 at the Melbourne Working With Wood Show for $729.

The guides were different at the time - this is an image from an old Gumtree ad:

Not a great quality image unfortunately. The guides were not the best and used a basic clamping design.

When they upgraded the upper guides and they became standard with the machine, Hafco / Hare and Forbes / Machinery Warehouse sold the upgrade as a spare part - like this:

From memory it was about $100 (now $127) and required drilling some new mounting holes in the back of the saw housing, but it was fairly simple to do.

Credit to Machinery Warehouse for carrying a good selection of spares for such an old machine - I need a new insert plate

Thank you I saw them but will now pay serious attention to them. I wonder if they would have stock in Brisbane

Any idea what the wheels on these saws looked like? I see the 4 holes in the base but nothing on the internet that I can find.

Which wheels? The bandsaw wheels or a mobile base kit?

If you post some photos of what you feel you might be missing (not that you can take a photo of what isn't there), I can take photos of my complete saw for reference.

Following shows a hole I thought was for wheels but maybe it was a securing point for transport.
After that is 2 shots home made guide on it now.
After that is 2 shots of a guide I am considering fixing to it.

Replaced bearing yesterday and after a lot of searching and offers to get them in I finally bought 6004 2RS bearing from local mower shop for $7 with knowledge they always have plenty of stock. They were the cheapest bearing supply and in fuel and time costs.

I have the same saw but purchased 2008 and appears to have the upgraded guides, but the guides on mine are less than ideal.

I have the manual, parts list, etc But H&F told me this week they no longer get parts ?? great service.

I keep finding it hard to get parts these days. I'm thinking I need to find someone who will machine new ones at reasonable price.
