Hammer N4400 Bandsaw
I've just purchased a Hammer N4400 bandsaw, I'm really excited to start using it but I'd like to get it set up correctly first.
I checked the squareness of the fence to the edge of the table and it's out by about 1mm. Is there a way to adjust this? The instruction manual is limited in detail so any help would be great.
Thanks,
Andy

hi andy ... if your is like mine, that error comes only as you tighten the fence ... the flat of the screw tightens onto the round bar that holds the fence and twists slightly because it is not tightening onto something square
it is a very minor problem that i easily fix with a magblock (at the other end of the fence) to square it before i tighten and then it cannot move out of square ...

Re: Hammer N4400 Bandsaw
Thanks for the reply David.
The gap in the fence is present regardless if it's clamped or not. Surely this can be fixed or adjusted though?

Hi Andy
There is an adjustment. However first check fo square when the fence is locked down. If the problem is still there, then lift you can move the track (the single round bar along the front) back-and-forth to adjust the angle of the fence. Look carefully and you will see the bolts that hold it onto the bandsaw's frame. Mine did not require any adjustment. It tightens up perfectly square.

I think Stewy can help you out. But it seems like he's not hanging around a lot here recently.
Here's a link https://www.woodworkforums.com/f27/sh...7/#post1581007 . You guys have the same band saw.

Hi
To tell the truth I have not even checked to see if the fence is square to the table or not. I was a bit the other way just wanted to start cutting something
I will have a look tonight and see what I can find out for you.
I ripped a few lengths of Redgum last night and they come out parallel so it can't be too bad.
one thing I do know is that you will be very happy when you do get it setup and start playing.

Hi Andy,
Do you mean that there's a small gap between the fence & the table at the front of the fence? If so, that's not a problem. You could probably adjust it out by loosening all the bolts that attach the bar to the table, but I've never bothered.
If the above advice doesn't help feel free to send me a PM & I'll come around if you wish.
Good choice of bandsaw, you won't be disappointed.
