Default To all JET 14” owners

The blade size is 93 ½ “ which is 2375mm. I bought 2 blades both 2375mm from Carbatec and both of them are a little bit too loose. Not by much but they are just not right.

Do I miss something? Does anyone know why?

    Thanks in advance

    Elementary, my dear Wongo!

A 14.5" diameter wheel has a circumference of 1157.5 mm.

If one was to increase the circumference i.e the length of the blade by three (3) mm, the blade would be half a mm from the wheel.

I know there's more adjustment in the saw than that, but I'll bet someone in the band saw blade making department didn't quite get the measurement right.

I must admit, I had a blade from the very same source, albeit the Sunshine Coast Agent, and therefore maybe it came from a different supplier, and I ran out of adjustment. Luckily I hit a pocket of concrete in a bolthole in the second hand oregon I was ripping, and blunted the blade on it's very first cut!

I've been buying blades from another source (where I get my BU planes from actually ) and have never had a spot of bother.

That is not to say that the likes of Henry Bros should not be patronised mind you...

    Cheers,

    P
