Laguna bandsaws
Hi folks. Another question to put out there & to see if anyone has tried the following? I did put in a new thread yesterday titled “bandsaw questions” where I mentioned this brand of band saw (Laguna) www.lagunatools.com. I have been researching band saws & this one faired very well in a bandsaw review by American Fine Woodworker http://www.finewoodworking.com/ToolG....aspx?id=29458
It was voted best overall if I recall. The questions are,
- Has anyone else actually gone ahead & imported this machine’?
- How has the machine performed?
- Are you happy?
I have had conversation with Laguna & they assure me that they have sold quite a few machines to Australians. I am hoping that a few of those Australians subscribe to this forum.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Pavlos.

Laguna
G'day
I have also spoken to the guys at Laguna and have heard the same thing, but the shipping is expensive....
And I also thought, if it breaks down whose going to fix it.....

For the trouble involved why bother? The chances of getting it here in one piece would be failry low I would reckon. The yanks use different electricity to us also.

Thanks for the above comments. Common sense (there is no such thing!) would say that the importation of a machine would be a ridicules thing to do & generally I am of that thought too. However, it does not hurt to entertain this thought process with others & to through this idea out into the ether. Not all importation encounters have to be a bad experience. Also with the Oz dollar the way it is I thought it may be cost effective?
Thanks
Pavlos
