Leda Bandsaws & Rack n Pinion tables
Hi,
I am in the market for a bandsaw - one of the larger, Taiwanese ones (commonly sold by most as the X-4300 (17") or X-4800 (19"). Those by Timbecon, H&F and Carbatec, Sonic are all similar, but each has a few differences.
I saw (briefly) the Leda (Ledacraft?) 17" at the Adelaide WW Show in July. The service by the owner (sorry, can't recall his name) was excellent and I ended up buying a spindle sander (which I haven't unpacked yet but it looks nice!!).
I am almost ready to purchase one, so was curious if anyone else had any experience with the Leda brand in particular? A few minor differences between theirs and others were mentioned at the show, but I can't recall them all now (one was the construction of the wheels, aluminium I think).
If not, comments on their machinery in general may help me. They seem to quite a bit (similar to the other distributers) but I haven't seen many comments on their products.
Also, I did like the fact it had a rack and pinion adjustment for the table - having experienced trying to set the angle on one manually, I think this is a great feature. Should I opt not for the Leda one, does anyone else offer this? I haven't noticed it on the Carbatec one, haven't looked at the others closely yet.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Regards,
Darren
