It needs pointing out that the Snodgrass method only works on crowned tyres and if the machine has flat tyres then the blade needs to hang off the side of the wheel so the teeth are off the tyre. Most Asian machines will have crowned tyres while European machines generally have flat tyres. Very narrow blades on European machines get tracked to the middle of the wheel.

For my Jet 18" saw, I bought these: Robot Check

I'm sure they make the equivalent for 14" bandsaws. It is the most popular size bandsaw.

I'm very happy with them. I can't compare them to Carter tyres as I've never owned them, but they are way cheaper.

Hot tip: buy two of them and replace them both at the same time.

That works fine for smaller blades like 1/4"or 3/16" but not for wider blades like 5/8" otherwise the right edge of the blade is "off" the tire

Also, another bandsaw guru called Michael Fortune disagrees with Snodgrass and prefers the blade to be centered all the time. Have a read of the first post of this thread if you really want to be confused.

I've done this with BS blades as wide as 30mm and yes, the rear of the blade is probably dangling; but it still works better than the blade centred on the width of the wheel.

    YMMV ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I use the Snodgrass method on a 24" bandsaw. It works for me.

It did on the 25th of January, when I bought them. A lot has happened in the world since then!

Google "Sulpher Grove Tool". I found their website and Facebook pages easily enough.

Like everybody else, they are experiencing problems with supplies and deliveries.
