Hi all
Have had a thought of an addition that I can add to the mitre fence if you wish.
I have put 4 grub screws in the side of the slider that can be adjusted to take out the last of any slop in the slider and the slot fit. This is good if you want it very accurate which a BS itself does not always give you but this may help a bit.
Works very good on a tablesaw though.
If you want this added to your mitre fence order PM me.

Hi
Update
All the parts are now made. Next is I have to clean them up and assemble them. I will get the screws on Friday and should have them in the post Monday or Tuesday next week.
Came up with the first extra, a 50mm high fence great for round parts. Found this out when cutting some logs of 100mm dia, the 25mm fence was ok but I can see the bigger one will be far better.
I have put grub screws on them all. It was just easier to do the lot in one go, you do not have to use them if you do not want too.

Just thought I would show you how I've overcome the issue with poor lighting at the blade contact area. I found the OEM perspex insert was more of a distraction than anything else, not least of all because of the reflection from the inside surface. Not infrequently this would, because of the refraction, show two cutting marks on the job making cutting errors much more likely.
All these bits cost about $14 from Jaycar and power is from a 9V battery that sits on the top of the machine. The light itself is LED and has its own on/off switch. I used the pre-drilled holes for the perspex shield and the light is adjustableIMG_0657.jpgIMG_0660.jpg

Dovetail
I think you get this week KISS award. I mucked around with led resistors wire power supply ect ect, I agree on the plastic and trying to look through it and if you add some dust it's not good, but the holes it was mounted in very handy.
For those who ordered a mitre fence and or insert, there clean and assemble. Will pack and post them on Tuesday. See pics.

Mitre fence setup instrution
This was meant to be include in your fence parcel
Mitre fence setup
1; Set slide grub screws,
Wind out all grub screws using small Allen key provided so as to be to wide for table groove, But do not let them fall out a there are bugger to find.
Put the first edge of slide into table groove and adjust the first screw in till it slips into the groove.
Keep the slide pushed towards the blade side of groove. Move slide up to the next screw an adjust it in till it fit into the groove and so on.You will find it easier for grub screws under the body of the fence to lift the fence up turn screw and try it repeat as needed.
Loctite (could use the smallest amount of CA if no loctite on hand) grubs screws in place once slide is adjust. Let them set. If you do not let it set as you slide it back and forth the grub screw will become unadjusted.
2; Calibrator fence
Lock fence near 90 degrees to the blade
Using a flat board with straight edge against the fence make a cut and test with square, adjust fence till cut is square.
Loosen off the pointer on back of slide with large Allen key provided.
Lock pointer to zero.

Hi Russell
My gear arrived today. Looks great and the inclusion of the two Allen keys was a really nice touch. May have to consider getting the high fence at some stage.
Cheers

Mitre fence 2nd run
Hi
Have had some more interest re the fence and inserts so if I can get a few more interested so that I can do a batch of 6 fences, this is how many I get out of the stock piece.
I would offer these with either a high(5omm) or low(25mm) or both fence heights or made to your specification.
For those who have one and want a different fence height now would be a good time to get one.
To those who have them now, any feedback to any improvements, or possible add ons, I think all would appreciate your input.
Thanks

Thanks guys for your comments.
I was asked what all the threaded holes are for in the base. These are if you want to add any bits or jigs to the fence. One thing I was looking at with mine was a wooden rest for the heal or my hand.
