Narrow blade stabilizer (Split ring type) Where in Aus can I get one now?
Is there anywhere in Auz I can get a new Split Ring Narrow Blade stabilizer? Mine has just died after many years. I know they are available in USA/Canada, but would prefer to get locally.

Narrow blade stabilizer (split ring type. Where in Auz cn I get one?
Yes, the Carter type thing is a direct copy of mine, made years ago by a Tasmanian bloke, now dead.
One of the split rings has come off the outside of the bearing on which the blade runs. I`m Aralditing it back on in a hope it may be enough to hold it, but the ring itself is almost worn through, and it is fun doing cuts with almost Scroll Saw precision.

I bought a Carter Stabiliser from Laserman technologies here: Laserman Technologies
Carter's site will show you the varieties available, and I think they sell just the wheel. Here's a pdf of the more common types Stabilizer 2007.pdf

I believe Carroll's Woodcraft sell the Carter products even though I can't see them on their site. Might be worth an email.

Thanks, all. I think I`ll buy a beer or so for one of my fitter and turner mates and have meaningful conversations. So far, my Aralditing tne loose ring back on the bearing has worked, but for how long????. Thanks for all the suggestions.
