    Default Ozito 200mm 250W Bandsaw

Curious as to whether anyone can give me a product report on the Ozito Bandsaw.

That is someone who bought one.

I am only doing scale model work with pine presently.

I want it to cut out the surfboard rocker specifically.

The boards are just under 80mm wide, which should get clear of the machine cutting height of 80mm.

Yep, I've had the same one for just over 18 months. It's used at least once a week mainly for cutting pen blanks, but have also cut out 75mm thick blanks for platters. Took quite a while to get it cutting straight; mainly setting the guides and getting the tension right (tighten until it's ready to break and it works fine ). Cutting 80mm height is right at the top of its capacity. Definitely not the most powerful and for the 75mm blanks in soft camphor laurel I had to pedal faster! Set it up right, take your time cutting, buy some spare blades, and it should do the job for you. And hang onto your sales docket - the three year warranty is a lot better than most. And if it lasts over 3 years you can then afford to throw it away. Mine has already repaid the princely sum of $129 that it cost.

    Cheers, Gary

And just to finish up - the guides wore out after 2+ years work, so I ordered another set. When my order was ready to pick up I found they had sent a blade, not guides! Three weeks later they rang and said to bring in the whole bandsaw. Turns out, getting the guides was too hard (even though Ozito assured me they were in stock and readily available) so guess what? I took the whole bandsaw in and they gave me another one .

Looking now at the 200mm 800w table saw for $109. might be a nice addition to my little workspace. Only planning on working in radiata pine, so....

Thinking of buying one of these myself, and would love to know your thoughts.

I only work in softwood (the really soft stuff). Radiata pine or light red meranti are about the hardest stuff I will have to use with it, so I'm pretty sure it should do fine.

That said, I am looking to make my own veneers, and I'm a little worried about some reports this saw has trouble with blade adjustment and doesn't track straight (I'm assuming however they're pushing too hard or the blade is too loose).

Given you've had yours a few months now, can you recommend it for fine-cutting / veneer / inlay work using less-dense timbers (ie; 600kg per cubic meter and under?)

    Cheers
