Default Peerless band saw broken wheel track adjuster

    G'day,

New bloke here. Just picked up a Peerless band saw from the early 80's. Machine is in good nick although it has snapped the cast aluminum part that adjusts the track of the top wheel. I guess this is pretty common considering the poor quality of the alloy.

Now one of my options is to make a new one out of steel, but i dont have a great deal of time and would prefer to buy one. Having a look on the american forums it appears you can buy these as replacements, even the entire tension/track slide assembly.

I had a crack at repairing it with a brazing rod but the parent metal is so poor it pretty much melted. So what can I do? Has anybody encountered the same?

    Cheers
    Jake
