Powermatic/Jet 1800 ????
The time has come for me to decide which bandsaw to upgrade to, hopefully collecting one next weekend at the WWW show in Brissy. I've narrowed it down to these three...
Socomec SN560
Felder FB540
Powermatic/Jet 1800
There's pros & cons to all of them but at the moment the Powermatic 1800 (in Jet colours apparently!) is looking like the best choice - has anyone out there got one or used one that can tell me what they thought of it????
OR does anyone have any other suggestions - minimum specs are...
single phase, min' 3HP
300mm or better cutting height
450mm min' wheel diameter
1-1/4" min' blade width

I was just referring to how you get your pocket money.
Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Hi,
I bought the PWBS 14CS from Gregory Machinery about 3 months ago, very happy with it. Assembly instructions were as you would expect, simple and easy to follow.
Build quality was very good, After a quick fine tune of the tracking, it cuts parallel to the mitre slot. Runs very smoothly and quietly.
Regards Steve.

Hi,
No I did not buy a riser block kit, sorry cannot help. Maybe give your supplier a ring, see if they can help.
Another possibility is to see if you can find any instructions for the JET bandsaw on the net, I think they use the same riser kit ? (just painted a different colour)
Regards Steve.
