When it rains it pours - Wadkin BZB 500
Well after purchasing my Centauro 500 CO, I stumbled onto
a Wadkin BZB 500 with a 2 HP motor. It needs to have some rust removed and needs some parts for the lower guide which I will machine. Here is the best part though... it was FREE!!! Occasionally I get lucky

Thanks bosox and Albert
No room at the moment for the saw as I have sold a jointer thicknesser that I need to deliver this Saturday before I pick up the bandsaw on Sunday. I have a Wadkin BGS 10 that I want to sell to make room for my combination machine. I will compare which bandsaw is better - the Centauro or the Wadkin and keep the better of the 2.
To be honest, I am not overwhelmed with the quality of the Centauro. When I compare the build quality to my Swedish machines or the Wadkin table saw, it is a cut below. It does have an extra horse over the Wadkin but HP is not everything.
I will be buying a few variable frequency drives and hooking them up to my 3 phase machines so that they can be run from 230 volt single phase. That should make selling them on easier.
Paul.
